Samsung NX300

Samsung NX300 review,

The Samsung NX300 is the top camera in the Samsung NX range, its popular and innovative Compact System Camera (CSC) series. The Samsung NX300 is still the most impressive NX camera to date.

Key Features: 20.3MP APS-C sensor; ISO 100 - 25600; Up to 8.6fps continuous shooting; Full HD video capture at 50, 25 and 24p; 3.3-inch, 768k-dot AMOLED touchscreen

The core of the Samsung NX300 sits a 20.3MP APS-C CMOS sensor that, despite bearing the same physical dimensions and resolution as its predecessor, now has an enhanced ISO range of 100-25,600. It also shoots Full HD video at 50, 25 or 24 frames per second in the common H.264 format

The sensor itself has been paired up with Samsung's DRIMe IV imaging sensor, which the Samsung claims has better image noise reduction and improved colour reproduction.

Not content with just Wi-Fi, the Samsung NX300 joins the emerging class of digital cameras with NFC technology. NFC (Near Field Communication) lets photographers share their photos with other NFC enabled devices (e.g. other cameras or phones) simply by touch, and is sure to prove popular as it becomes more widely adopted

One excellent feature carried in to the Samsung NX300 from other models in the series is the i-Function button, present on the supplied 18-55mm OIS kit lens. i-Function lets you cycle through common settings .

PROS:
  1. Settings adjust on lens ring
  2. Responsive & hinged touchscreen
  3. New faster auto focus system
  4. Very good image quality
CONS:
  1. Lacking built-in flash
  2. Poor buffer performance

Thanks.

Canon EOS 100D review

Canon Camera EOS 100D

The Canon EOS 100D marks something of a sea change for Canon as a response to the growing popularity of Compact System Cameras (CSCs)

DSLR Canon Camera

Features:

Despite being the smallest and lightest DSLR in the world, the Canon EOS 100D is by no means stripped back in order to make that grade. In fact, it has much the same specification as Canon’s larger triple-digit models.

For instance, the Canon EOS 100D sensor is the same resolution as the EOS 700D, although the 18MP APS-C Hybrid AF II CMOS sensor is smaller and thinner sensor to help make the 100D smaller than typical DSLRs.

The sensor itself has an ISO range of 100-12,800, extendable to 25,600 in the ‘H’ setting. The sensor, as the name suggests, features built-in phase-detect autofocus (AF) technology and as a result supports continuous AF when recording HD video.

The 100D supports HD video capture at a range of frame rates – including 30, 25 and 24fps – as well as offering the option to shoot at 50fps, albeit at the lower 1280 x 720 resolution.

PROS:
  • Good design including rubberised handgrip
  • Creative filters feature live preview
  • Strikingly small body

CONS:

  • Similar price to the Canon EOS 700D
  • AF system only features one cross-type point
  • Small design means small battery

Canon PowerShot SX280 HS

PowerShot SX280 HS, Canon's new top compact mega zoom.
The new processor also gives the camera a shooting performance boost.
She SX260's videos were in MOV format and maxed out at 24fps.
Canon tuned up the camera's auto focus (AF) performance.

The other major new hardware feature is Wi-Fi, which joins the built-in GPS receiver. The latter is for geotagging your photos with location information, while the former allows you to wirelessly connect to an iOS or Android device for transferring and sharing or backing up to a computer.
